So if (as you suggest) 40 is to be the tip for a good one hour massage, great. But every one hand, or leave the room, or just tickling, poor attitude, etc. Gets deducted from that, and the masseuse gets what's left at the end of the hour. If 20 they should be happy, if only 5 or 10 that should be a clue to step up or find a new job.

None deserve a tip for not working, don't care how cute they are.

Some experiences over the past year. The 1st 4 were before I really started following this site, so pertinent info is spotty. That and I have a hard enough time remembering names in my day to day life, much less this hobby. The 1st 4 are in my ranked order:

I search for sites regularly for providers and am not fairing well either. I haven't experienced any parlors showing arrogant behavior or attitudes but please put them in their place if they step out of line, you are the one with spending the money so they should be catering to you.

Agree. Some of the girls prefer half hour because the tips are similar, the house fee is only $5. 00 -$10.00 less and it is much less work. Many of the girls make into the six figures and I would bet they pay less taxes than those of us who make similar amounts in occupations that don't receive tips.

Would have to agree as well (50% of house to the masseuse). Have also heard the 30 min comment. And if would have given 40 on a 30. I have augmented up my normal tip for an hour Or more with that person, if the time spent deserved it.

If the masseuse is only getting $12 from the house, my guess is there is something else going on. Either they signed a piss poor contract with massage envy, or they are having funds taken off the top due to a dept they are paying off (could be shady), they are having to pay room and board, paying for security, a useless air breather *pimp*, etc. If they cannot move to another shop that is paying 50% of house to the masseuse, something else is going on.
