I generally agree with your spider sense. I would just call it a scam though. Here's my checklist:

1. None of her pics are selfies.

2. Pictures of good quality and show her face clearly. This implies a photographer with some skill and usually that's reserved for the high-end who gate those kind of photos.

3. Out of state phone number. If only for text, clearly a scam. Otherwise, just one sign among others.

4. Google search of one her pics has a hit: https://www.pinterest.com/bennybenato/essence-richards/.

I would say that having Crabtree as the location is a pretty good touch. Must have a local involved. I'm seeing a narrative that Crabtree hotels are like New Bern Ave. I think, like everywhere else, you just have to be careful. Have fun.

They've been there since about the start of this coronavirus deal. I've been seeing several deputies cars in the lots over the past few weeks. I'd heard that the county was getting rooms for homeless folks who either had the virus or were possibly exposed to the virus. Drove by yesterday just to see what was up. LQ, Fairfield, Hilton, Marriott Courtyard all had LEO in lot. Several lots were partially blocked-off with people under tents just sitting there.
