I'm headed to Vegas in 8 days. My hotel just knocked 40 percent off of my rate, and I thought I was getting a good deal before. My question for the locals or anyone currently there is: are things noticeably less busy? Not just the stuff we discuss on this forum, but also restaurants, casinos, hotels, shows, etc. I can't find any news stories about how much of a drop off there has been, but I can imagine that the airlines and hotels don't want to comment to prevent more hysteria. BTW, I'm not thinking about canceling my trip, just curious about what to expect.

Even close this is the hottest market I've seen here in Vegas I been here 7 years these are great times. As always though the casinos do have their slow periods duribg the year but their ramping up hiring right now getting ready for March Madness its going to be packed for the next month.

P.S. It has nothing to do with Trump its the Raiders, Knights etc etc.

How is Sam's town casino / hotel? Usually gold coast / orleans gives me rooms but not this time, but Sam's town is also a sister property and I can get a room there if I want. Is it decent or rundown? And any CG?

I happen to really like that place. Rooms overlook a really pretty courtyard which is indoors. They did a really nice job with it when they built it. Mostly a locals place but IMHO, it's one of the best locals places in town.

CG operate like any hungry animal, they return to the last spot they found "food".

If no food (clients) , they move on to others spots they recently where fed.

The better quality of the " food", the more often they return.

Used to be obvious CG's who'd walk through the casino, but that seems to have dropped off in the last year or two. I'm sure that there are still a few if you watch for them.
