Yes they were here first. No they were not treated well or even fairly. Even being treated poorly would have been better than how they were treated. But, that is history. I have not talked with anyone who does not regret what happened to Native Americans and how they were treated. I can't change that. No one can. You can be angry about it all you like but what took place cannot be changed and history cannot be re-written. Things like that have happened since the dawn of time and involved many different races of people on all continents. It is what we humans do to each other. I don't like it either but that is the way it is.

The big question becomes what happens if there is a rebound wave, such as what's happening in China? If a few dozen cases start popping up in October, do we go into a national lock down again, or just aggressively shut down only those areas where cases are growing?

Too many factors to make a prediction. The expectation is that the number will go down during the summer months, although preliminary data from Southern Hemisphere shows that this virus is pretty immune to temperature as its not an influenza strain. So the big question is if we back off on the social distancing and can get more people thru the infection with little to mild symptoms. Meanwhile isolate / protect the elderly and immune compromised, then we should be in good shape come the fall, when (not if) this virus flares up. No matter what you hear, there will not be a vaccine until 2021, the testing regimens / clinical trials will take that long). So we will have this with use a least another round.

After this we effectively eliminate the virus, 95% of things return to normal we just don't have church, concerts, large gatherings & sporting events.

That's all fine and good. I'm not disputing any of those numbers, nor have I ever said C-19 is a death sentence. The problem is that even with those low numbers of mortality, the health system still gets overwhelmed. It prevents people from getting the normal care they need and results in more death than just the virus.

We'd be better off it it was ebola, since it's much more difficult to catch and doesn't live long outside of a host. This shit would be over by now if it was ebola.
