Take it from a guy who's tangled with the police on more than one occasion. A person who talks to a cop without being aware of the of the dangers will soon find out the hard way. First off they are experts at setting you up saying this is off the record or you won't be charged if you cooperate. Let me tell you this everything they tell you will be a lie. No where in their report will they mention they made a deal with you to put in a good word with the D. A. Or judge. 100% lies to get you to talk and incriminate yourself by confessing. It's their job to lie their ass off to you! You have the right to remain silent USE IT! You do not have to talk to the police other than identify yourself. REMEMBER THAT! Ask if your under arrest or being detained if not nicely tell them your leaving. Lawyer up or at least tell them you want a lawyer present or tell them you've contacted a lawyer and he does not want you to speak to police. Telling them your lawyering up will shut them right down as no lawyer will EVER allow questioning by police. 99% of the time police are bluffing to get you to confess their so-called evidence doesn't exist. One last thing be nice and respectful to police it makes it go better not being a jerk. Never hurts to study up on your constitutional rights. Oh one final thing if they come to your house you do not have to answer the door and never ever open the door and invite them in! If you do answer the door to tell them you have no interest in speaking with them do it through the closed door or with the sliding chain attached. Never hurts to have a video camera going either. The police are no one's friend.

I did not read reaper80's comments to necessarily mean she was ratting out clients. In fact, he also stated she deleted her texts daily, which would make it more difficult (but probably not impossible) for LE to actually obtain those messages. But if LE has reason to believe she was seeing multiple clients at her parents home, she could be charged with a felony (keeping a house of prostitution) in addition to misdemeanor charges. And, they could charge her parents with felonies too for allowing the house to be used, if in fact they know about her activities. LE could certainly threaten them all with felonies, and use the possibility of not charging it as incentive to rat out clients.

I think everyone should always have a good idea of how they will talk (or not) to LE if they are ever questioned, and how to bring a lawyer into it (or not). And not just for mongering activities, but in general in life. I don't think telling LE to fuck off is a good idea. But it is true that a huge percentage of people incriminate themselves when talking to LE, so the advice to say nothing except what you're required to say (eg name, I'd) is good advice. If you aren't sure the best way to handle your contact with LE, should it occur, the best but most expensive way is to ask a lawyer for advice on how to handle it. There are also many advice articles and youtube videos on the internet by real life lawyers about this, which is probably your second best choice. Advice from mongers in this forum is, IMHO, the worst place for good advice.
