If you morally have no issue with letting her and the child (if she even decides to keep the child) go their separate way, you would have no obligation. Even if she keeps telling you that it is your child you still are legally not obliged. However, if she questions the paternity to a court and you are forced by that court to provide a DNA / paternity test to the court and then it is proven the child is yours, you most likely will legally have obligation until the child turns 18 or possibly even older. The court would have to have strong belief that you may be the parent to force you to prove paternity and that fight costs the mother (and you) lots of money to prove and to fight. If you are later found to be the father, you may have to pay her legal fees as well.

The scary part is that even if you ignore it all and she doesn't pursue you at first, she can later on try to prove paternity and you could then be on the hook for support AND all support backpay to day one if the court levies that against you.

If she gives the child up for adoption, which many of them do if they go through the pregnancy, you would be free and clear as all rights then go to the adoptive parents and they assume all responsibilities.

If the child is taken away from the mother because she is deemed unfit, I would think that you would not have an obligation because she becomes a ward of the state even when foster parents are found. Although that part I am not 100% sure. BUT, if the child becomes legally adopted after forced removal, all obligations go away just as if she voluntarily gave the child away.

The guy with the lucky swimmer can be held responsible but how does she know who that is? If she saw him daily and was a low volume provider she could ask for a DNA test or if a judge finds enough suspicion he could order the test. A friend of mine was ordered to take a DNA test but he was seeing the girl daily when she got pregnant.

We've had a few overnights and weekends together. When a girl goes from candy to being clean she'll put on some weight. In her case, that was a good thing. She was extremely thin before and now she's a healthy weight. I've left her alone to run errands on multiple dates and I've never had an issue. She's a very honest person.
