I think you guys are arguing over the price of apples versus the price of oranges, and both sides are correct.

As someone mentioned earlier, you are not going to influence the prices for top-tier providers (the [I]apples[/I. Girls like Dahlia, Farrah and Avalon have turned down dates all the time, and do not negotiate on price because either they also have a civilian day job, or they just are not in dire need of money. They are the ones that those of us who can afford them don't mind paying their prices because there are few out there that compare to the experience they provide you. Of all the girls that are available to play, these are more rare, and so they can set their own prices.

On the other hand, you can definitely influence the prices of lower-tier providers (the oranges. These girls will never turn down a date, and will often negotiate price. As I stated in the earlier post, my GUESS of less than 50% was just that, a guess. Again, no way to prove it, but I doubt very seriously that "the majority" of mongers are on this site. I'm not entirely sure why you added me to this post, it seems like most of your rant is about DRock. As to that, I'm sure he can speak for himself on the topic. As to me, nowhere did I say that the providers dictate the price, I didn't say that because I don't believe that. Just like I don't believe that we dictate the price. Just like with any service, the provider of that service effects the ultimate price and so too does the receiver of that service. Collectively, BOTH sides set the price.

Fully agree with your statement. We are part of the equation. I also think part of the issue with the Orlando market is that we are relatively close to Miami. My opinion is that top shelf talent down there generally gets more money per hour and / or more clients per hour. I sometimes find it hard to get an appointment with some of my favorites down there at 200/ hr because they are so busy. If I were a top shelf provider, I probably would not frequent Orlando over Miami on a regular basis with all other things considered equal.

There's at least two problems with that school of thought. First, those on this board are not the only consumers out there. While it's hugely a guess, I suspect less than half of those that regularly engage in this hobby are members of this forum. If so, then more than half of the mongers aren't even involved in this conversation. Second, the consumer alone doesn't set the price. Much like we can (attempt) to band together, so too can the ladies. Hypothetically, if we tried to set the hhr rate at 100, they could refuse to see clients and say the hhr rate is 150. Then it becomes a game of chicken to see who blinks first. Sure, we can absolutely have an EFFECT on the price, but there are way too many factors involved for us to think we could actually SET the price.
