There's been a lot of spam ads all over the place, even dating back to the Craigslist / Backpage days. There's definitely an art to sorting out the fake profiles and the authentic ones. Anything that looks too "over-produced" or "over-filtered" or says a lot of the same nonsense in the description is usually too good to be true.
