Has anyone had a situation where you inquire on availability but the replies back are a series of "aggressive" texts? This is the #1 reason to use a burner phone. Also, since the ability to take your phone number with you, phone numbers have become almost as personally identifiable as your soc number, so it's best you keep your real phone number just as protected as your real name. Go to Wally World and get a burner phone and a prepaid card for a few bucks and save yourself time, headache and exposure. Keep it in a safe place when you're not out looking. Then it doesn't matter if it blows up.

Or download Textfree, turn OFF the notifications, and select "Hide Apps" in your phone (as well as password lock it with a Power Battery Saver app). The first option is much safer, but if you can't get a new phone without getting caught at home, the second option saves a lot of headaches when it comes to ignoring spamming providers.
