There were no complaints from the public in that case. That was 100% generated by LE and, because they labeled it "trafficking" they were able to do all kinds of intrusive sh*t. That was a friggin' AMP so does anyone seriously think an Asian escort agency has any special immunity?

Also, it's a dangerous assumption to think LE has "bigger fish to fry" because they get their marching orders (and funding) from politicians who often want to make a big splash before an upcoming election. Speaking about funding, there's a lot of Fed and State grant money out there for "anti-trafficking" efforts. So, as I see it, that's even more incentive to label things (that used to be garden-variety prostitution) with the big T and go after them.

It's all a crapshoot out there. Some agencies operate for years without any problem and then they're gone in a flash. The bottom-line is that once you give up control of your personal info, it's out there, somewhere, forever. No one has a crystal ball about whether this agency or that one will be targeted. But, as I mentioned before, the question is how much do you have to lose if things go wrong? And another mistake some might make is to assume that info in the hands of LE won't be made public unless they decide to charge you. There's a LOT that can happen to that info and, if an employer or SO becomes aware of it, your life could be ruined without ever seeing the inside of a (non-divorce) courtroom.

Though it has never been on the news, I know one or two real examples in Seattle. Software engineers who provided their company emails then replied with meaningless messages from company email, to confirm identities.

Once that agency got busted, it's true LE cannot do anything directly, but they passed the email address to each involved employer. Next thing happened was someone lost their 6 digits salary jobs.

There's way too much risk involved with giving a provider or agency your real name, identification, employer information, or any other personal information. You've lost control of that info once you've given it out, plus there's always the possibility it could wind up in Uncle LEO's hands should the provider or agency get busted. To each his own, but my advice would be to move on and find someone else willing to see you without wanting personal info or references.

I visited them on Monday and was really not happy. Firstly they took back and forth multiple times for the appointment.
