I've asked AMP employees this exact question multiple times over the years in various cities. I've consistently been told that there is no way to predict when they will be busy or slow. The only positive suggestion I've received was to come during Monday night football. Perhaps that means come anytime when the local sports team has a big game.

As stated above, opening time is conventional wisdom. That has not worked for me as I have been burned by too many customers waiting in the parking lot at opening time. I've also been rushed more frequently when I'm the first customer of the day, I guess that is because they expect other customers to come soon. I've had my best experiences in the early afternoon (say, arrive between 1:30 and 2:30), better availability and more relaxed time. I've also done better in the mid-evening (say, arrive between 7:00 and 8:00). I try to avoid the early crowd, the lunch time work crowd, the after work crowd, and the late evening when the girls just want to stop working.
