Route 1 in the Foxboro area are probably the cheapest you'll find near Boston. Usually around $60/night, and some will do two hours for around $40.

Unless there's anything going on at Gillette, then they'll double or even triple their prices.

That's the idea, rooms are cheaper but you don't know the hotel until you book. However, check carefully the info they provide, most of the time is fairly easy to guess the hotel.

I use www.hotwire.com to hunt for discounts. Boston area is not cheap though!

My mother works at a dealership and there is a special computer system that allows car dealers to get this info in literally 30 seconds.

Be careful running plates in MA through the dealer system. There is definitely a record of who runs a plate. If anything comes of it, they better have a good reason for running it. I've seen it.
