Male here. My analysis once a year on this topic again for holidays. Business Consultant here. You don't need Harvard MBA for this analysis. Over last 5 years or so, the Rates for services providers have increased 100-200%. Old CL and BP are gone for almost two years or so now. It's generally a pass for me too with some very rare exceptions. I've noticed that the general asking price in the last 6 months seems to be significantly higher that it had been. I don't negotiate because I always felt that the service would suffer if she agreed to a lower price out of desperation for business. So if the asking price is too high for my taste, I just pass on the opportunity rather than try to get the price down to what I'm willing to pay.
