How do you know what ag / elite does for verification besides your own assumptions? Tbh it seems like you have some type of bias against ag and / or trying to push business to elite.

I've not used Elite's services, so I can't speak to their pro's or con's. Also, this reply isn't a defense for WalterKovacs since I don't know him or his motives.

From my personal experience, I can say that AG is atrociously awful at communicating back to clients in a timely manner. So it's perfectly understandable that someone would feel skeptical about AG's ability to handle PII when they're the ones asking for it before going dark on a potential client for multiple weeks. I myself almost gave up after multiple emails until they reached out recently & gave approval. Really weird setup they've got going on and I haven't made up my mind if I'll visit them after all.

Bottom line: Use intuition.If you don't feel comfortable giving out certain PII about yourself, don't do it. Completely up to you.

I'm not a computer security geek so, if this is off the mark, any knowledgeable monger please feel free to correct.

Scenario A: Client submits PII once and agency keeps for an indefinite amount of time.

Scenario B: Agency deletes PII periodically and requires client to resubmit.

With A, there's a single transmission of the PII and after that the security of the info depends on how the agency stores it. While there might be copies of the info on servers in the transmission path, over time that middleman info will likely "age out" and using VPNs and encrypted email should also help. Which again leaves agency storage security protocols as the main concern.

With B, there are multiple transmissions so take everything above, multiply it by however many resubmissions were made, and consider that a new set of potential risks is created every time. Of course the biggest question is what the agency does to "delete" the info. If they get busted and weren't very sophisticated, LEO will probably be able to recover or reconstruct some, most, or all of the "deleted" data. Having many instances of sending them your PII would seem, IMHO, to be harder to explain. And if you're caught up in the middle of a real or pseudo-trafficking investigation things could get pretty sticky, and not in a good way.

Makes no difference to me as I'll never send any agency or provider my PII. I don't care how attractive or how good the reviews, there are plenty of fish in the sea and I refuse to entrust my life and well-being to people I don't even know. And I'm also cognizant of the fact that once your info is out there, it's out there forever and no longer in your control.

Well there are ways in which one can avoid having to give out PII to an agency.

I gave Elite references of at least 6 agencies (who don't have my PII but they do give a reference since I've used them a bunch) plus a verification site. They still wanted my I'd.

Even after I told them to shove it, they sent several emails. But no, there is no agency I'd trust with my PII. Of course, its a YMMV kind of thing.
