I have run into 2 ladies I saw regularly. In the grocery store we each simply smiled and said hello as we passed without any awkward conversation or look backs. The other time I was with my SO and again we just smiled and the lady politely said hi to my SO as they passed. Treat them as you would any other person, smile and say hello and move on, good luck.

Man you nailed it. Been in this for a couple decades and it's happened to me twice. Once at Costco and once at the movies. Smile and nod and keep moving. The providers were cool and didn't do anything weird.

It happens from time to time if you hobby anywhere near where you live. Always awkward. If they didn't see me see them then I act like I didn't see them. If possible, I walk in another direction and turn away from them so they don't see my face. One time I saw the provider about a month after such an encounter and she mentioned it, she was with a dude and she must have seen me first and looked away herself, and said she appreciated the no acknowledgement. The dude was her SD and was paying her to be monogamous, LOL. (also, if you believe any SB won't go behind your back in that situation you haven't been playing this game long enough).

Basically, as others have said, try not to engage but if you have to keep it to the barest minimum possible.

Never say hello when nodding your head is enough.
