Speaking of people getting info you don't want, just a quick tip about the Burner app: If you have an incoming call to your Burner app number (so your real phone is ringing, showing either your Burner app number, or the caller's number, depending on how you have the app configured), and you decline the call on your real phone (meaning, punt it to voicemail), it will go to your REAL phone's voicemail, because from the app's perspective, the call was answered. So, if you have your real name / number on your real phone's outgoing message, the person who called your Burner number will hear it. Obviously, that's not what you want. To avoid this problem, mute the unwanted Burner call, and after a few rings it'll time out hit the Burner voicemail like you want.

Pro tip: Disable Rings in Burner settings, so all calls to your Burner number go directly to Burner voicemail, unless you're expecting a call you want to pick up.

That's not accurate, maybe you have your setting different. My burner voicemail stays in the app and it's a separate greeting. The 2 voicemails are completely independent of each other. Another tip is to shut off your burner in the settings when not using it or else incoming calls will ring your phone even if the app is deleted. I shut off the line and delete the app when not using it, when I want to use it I re download the app from the App Store, log in and all my info is there saved, text messages, pics, a separate phone book. All you can ask for really. The great thing about it is even if prying eyes were download the app they would need my password which rabid dogs couldn't get from me. It's also protected by a pin if I were to forget to delete the app after mongering with it and someone opened it. If questions ever came of it I would just say that I use it for the items I sell online and don't want to use my real phone number.

Nope, back then I had a trac phone paid for with cash and renewed with cash. Now I use an iPhone app called "burner". Only could have happened one of 2 ways, either she went through my wallet and got my real name when I was in the bathroom or she noticed the logo on a work shirt when I visited her after a late shift one night and was too lazy to go home first and change. I've always left my wallet in the car, in the glove box or center console or something. I only bring the agreed-upon cash donation in with me, no I'd or credit cards. I grabbed one of the text / phone apps, new number for the app only seems to work fine can make calls out fine inbound calls seem iffy, call does not make it through most of the time, showers as missed call. Texting is fine.
