Welcome to the club in which Frankie D (with Minnie) and I (with Mayya) are charter members. Here's my take on the visiting Thai provider phenomenon:

They hear through the Thai grapevine (which spans the globe) that there's good money to be made in the DMV, and more specifically in Northern Virginia.

Mostly amateurs or part-timers, they come to stay for a few weeks and work with the local providers who invited them to the area.

Their sole mission is to make as much cash as possible before heading home. They have little or no incentive to cultivate regular clients.

They talk amongst themselves to try to figure out the maximum amount of money they can get out of clients. And, especially for the attractive ones, their asking price for any level of service is much higher than what most local providers charge.

The level of massage skill is all over the place. Some are legit masseuses back in their home state (or country) while others are clueless.

FWIW, I'm taking a pass on any of the visiting Thais because I simply don't see the value proposition. I enjoy the perks of being a regular and that's not an option with these women. I also enjoy having good chemistry during a session and that's near impossible when the provider is 90% focused on the $ aspect of things. The visitors tend to upsell and negotiate more, which is a total buzzkill for me.

While some of them are awesomely attractive, and while the lure of finding a gem is strong, the downsides are just too much, IMHO. Much better value to be had by shopping local.

Not sure what you did differently but I booked Nuru with the handler on Saturday and when I arrived, they had no ability to perform Nuru. I told "Ava" that I was looking for Nuru and had booked it. She hesitated and said OK do you have $$. 40? I did but this small apt in FFx did not have the inflatable bed or the room for it. I said thank you and left. I was there like a year ago and was told that $1. 2 was 'the minimum. Have not been back. Have had better luck at K&J. Not too much there in the looks department. She was friendly and did a decent job for the massage. However, anything above standard NOVA she was wanting $1. Second time I drew yo yo. Much younger and a bigger size rack. Not as friendly but better in the looks department. Her rate was even higher at $1. 2. So anything beyond a TS, massage, and handshake is a high price here. Add this to my others and this just keeps getting pricier. I was going to go over to Roger Bacon but it was busy and the car salesman (crazy negotiator) was working there (cindy). Seems like the old 40/60/80/100 is vanishing in these parts from my experiences.

This is the biggest reason I tend to stay away from AMPs. There is too much risk in getting a girl like Bullwinkle. I have had a few bigger girls in my day but no one so gross that I had to walk away. I rather stick with the tried and true K-agencies or the Chinese joints. You're pretty much guaranteed to get a young, slim, fit, attractive girl every time.

When I walk into an AMP and the MMS takes me to the room, I will tell her (before I hand over the house fee) that I'd like to meet my masseuse first. Of course she'll resist because she wants to give me the girl of her choice, not mine. When that happens I tell her "No problem. I understand if you're busy and can't introduce me first. I will try to come back another time when it's not so busy. ".

At that point MMS usually changes her mind, puts me back in the room, and brings the masseuse to meet me. If she's acceptable, I'll stay. If not, I'll ask if anyone else is working, which often results in having to repeat the process so as to meet choice #2.

As long as you're polite, but firm and persistent, you should be ok. It also helps if you're able to lighten the mood with some humor. Sometimes I'll say I need to meet the girl because maybe she won't like me because I'm too old, or fat, or ugly, or whatever I think might get a laugh.

The important point is that you haven't handed over the money and MMS doesn't want to see that money going anywhere else than in her pocket. She understands that you have the leverage because you can go to any of dozens of AMPs and she'll lose you as a client.

The only time I wouldn't advise using this strategy is when the AMP is really busy. If they have more clients than they can handle, you have essentially zero leverage and MMS won't care if you stay or go. Also, if there's no MMS and a masseuse leads me to a room, I'll just confirm with her that she'll be taking care of me so as to make sure there are no surprises or misunderstandings. At all times my money stays in my wallet until I'm satisfied and decide to stay.

Since AMPs generally have some variation (sometimes a lot) among the providers, it helps to know about whom you're reporting. This helps avoid mongers going to an AMP and expecting (or demanding) a specific menu option from a provider who doesn't offer it. Of course, even with a name, YMMV always applies.

I stopped in at CC the other day as I was in the area. Taken to a room and I asked who was working. Mama relpied with the standard "don't worry, me bring nice girl for you!" Ok, whatever. I gave her my 80 and proceeded to undress. Knock at the door and in comes Bullwinkle. Damn guys, this chick was a moose! Sorry, no, nope. I asked who else was working and was told no one.
