If the Tracphone ia a smart phone, you can add 1000 txt messages for $5. The $20 time card gives you 90 days of service plus minutes and some txt messages. Tracphone is a good solution.

Try doing it on the net with a VPN. Choose. I dunno Chile or Zimbabwe as a source. Here's two I've used:

Works on cellular devices. There is a monthly fee, but the most important thing here is the VPN does not log you, the two above are zero-logs. Now you can be just some user in another country or on the coast of British Columbia and do your internet things. The power of tunnels!

You touched on part of the reason, I'm concerned about an app being on my primary phone and the app then having access to ALL the info on my phone, contacts, phone numbers, email addresses, etcetera. In turn, I'd be concerned about accidentally contacting my SO, a friend, or whatever via the app when I meant to use the regular phone info. With a burner phone, it's all separate, there is no possibility of my personal info leaking into my hobby info. That also eliminates the need to delete things I want to keep, photos, addresses and the like. As to where to keep the phone, it's well hidden, usually left in my office where no one has access to it. Even if found, it's password protected and couldn't even be turned on, let alone have access to the info stored in it. Just one guy's opinion, I can certainly understand why some people might prefer an app over a phone.

Posts: 424Even over an encrypted vpn connection, I wouldn't trust activating on my computer. Plus in the past I have preferred to replace the burners every few months. I pretty much stick to AMPs now, so I haven't been using a burner for a while, partly because of the activation question. And partly becuase I tired of unreliable escorts.

Hadn't thought about the activation thing. I activated mine over a payphone. Can't even remember where it was.

I suppose you could do it on a computer, over the internet using a TOR browser.

Only problem I have is how to activate a burner anymore. There are no pay phones anywhere in the area that I know of. And I'm not using my personal or work phones. How do you guys activate yours, when you get a new one?

Burner apps, when you can't get caught with a 2nd phone. If you were to use one I'd pay for it with a gift card bought with cash to add a layer of separation from yourself. A lot of them comes with the ability to code local the app separate from your phone. But you're still allowing an app access to your phone and that can be shitty especially from god knows where it was developed.

I have used a cheap Tracfone burner phone for multiple years. It has a basic touch screen, camera, other apps I don't use, etc. Cost me $25 cash I believe.

It is easy to use, easy to extend, and completely anonymous. What's not to like?

Posts: 52Question about Burners vrs Burner apps?
Hi, I'm an old hobbyist long time lurker and just recently back in the game. Times have changed and I'm looking for advice on getting a burner phone or I was told there were apps available for my existing phone. Can anyone share their opinions or experience with me to help me decide and or recommend an inexpensive burner & plan or the best app to use? Thanks in advance.
Charlie.

Posts: 1755Adding Links After The Fact
Every now and then I'll see a post with a link that isn't "hot", meaning that clicking on the link does nothing. This is usually because the author forgot to include the link with his uploaded post, so he takes advantage of the edit window and adds the link after-the-fact. Links added in this fashion don't become "hot". This is because the after-the-fact editor doesn't surround the link with start / stop URL identifiers. You have to manually add them. To see what this looks like, just reply with quote to any post containing a "hot" link and look at the text. You'll see URL identifiers surrounding the link. Just follow that example the next time you have to add a link to your post after-the-fact.

Could be a lot of things. Web filter blocking the word sex, not allowing connections outside the country, a blacklisted IP or hell even a DNS error at the time. If the connection allows vpn out you should use one at all times. Free internet is a myth, I know because I help enforce a lot of the aforementioned shit if you need help on that feel free to pm or ask.
