Well, traffic won't be much different than the 2nd. Some people hit the beach side hotels the eve of the 3rd. I live on the beach and it is a hit or miss. If you plan to do the beach, be prepared. This is the busiest day of the year for the beach and driving on it will be a disaster if you try after 9 or 10 am.

Stings are also pretty common around this time, so be cautious.

A lot of good points, however, I think that the date-breaker, whether it's the guy or the girl, should initiate the contact and say they have to cancel. One shouldn't have to call the other and verify that the date is still on. This is what responsible people do.

This is when a provider realizes that she can't meet you at your requested (or appointed) time, so she just stops communicating.

Case in Point: I have a standing 1:00 pm appointment on Sunday with my UTR. I never have to call and verify that we're still on. If we weren't, she would call me and let me know. Again, it's the responsible thing to do. As it turns out, I received a text today around 10:15 am. Her sister is paying her a surprise visit from out of town and will be there about 12:30. My options were to delay the date by a few hours or to cancel. Of course, I chose to delay and she texted me two hours later when her sister was leaving. I showed up at 3:30 pm and had a grand ol' time.

Evaporation is distinct from other common types of situational ghosting, such as those caused by general capriciousness, aka "dingbattitude", or when she's just straight up high and passes the fuck out, aka "methylepsy". No, in evaporation, the lass is willing and able to see you, just not when you've asked. So what does she do? She temporarily relegates you to the status of time-waster and moves on.

And this relegation may not be entirely baseless. Experience has taught her that most of us have windows of opportunity defined by our work and family schedules, our fleeting alibis, our general desires to nut in short order, etc.

But if she were willing to just make a small additional effort, I think she might find that sometimes we can be more flexible than she thinks.

Now, I'm not suggesting that providers chat incessantly with every monger (or wannabe) who texts them. As many of them have confided in us during our play dates, the majority of texts they get are a legitimate waste of their time. But if they've already seen us, why not make the tiny effort. Here's an example.

Me: Hey sweetheart, are we still on for 10 pm?

Them (instead of crickets): Hey hun, I'm soooo sorry but I can't make it tonight. I'm pretty free tomorrow though.

Now granted, probably 2 out of 3 times I'm going to respond "Sorry sweetie but tonight's my window. I'll hit you up next time. Xoxo".

But sometimes I'll be flexible and agree to another time.

Providers, if you really want to up your game, try this powerful variant.

Us: Hey sweetheart, are we still on for 10 pm?

You (instead of crickets): Hey hun, I'm soooo sorry but I can't make it tonight. If you can wait until tomorrow, I promise to make it worth the wait!

Now you've got us, as we are suckers for that shit. We love the promise of extra attention, or maybe a special rate.

I'm not promising a panacea here. If I can't meet tomorrow, I can't meet tomorrow. But if you can make me feel special, offer me a special rate, or otherwise entice me to wait, your chances of me changing plans to come see you tomorrow go way up.

Situational ghosting will always occur. There are no easy cures for dingbattitude and methylepsy. But evaporation can be erradicated by a concious effort at stronger communication.

BTW, I sure hope entrapment is a permissible defense in Florida. If not, LEOs could coerce you into criminal activity, then arrest and prosecute you for that activity.

But I think you'll find with a few web searches that both "objective" and "subjective" entrapment defenses are permissible in Florida.
