Weird attempted booking. Went through some available times, settled on one, was told 200/ hr even though ad said $125. She seemed surprised and went on a long diatribe on how it was a mistake and her iPad did weird stuff (Said she would honor rate of $150 for 90 minutes? Not to downplay the risk but cops aren't going to go that hard on you for a solicitation charge unless they really, really want your ass.

Basically your cell phone pings off towers in the area to get signals. They can triangulate where you are at any time based on where your cell phone pings off of.

The implication is if your burner phone pings in the same location they can say the burner is your phone.

Several issues here:

1: The triangulation isn't exact. I'm far from an expert but this isn't CSI. They can determine the area down to a couple blocks (I think, might be a larger area). But the point is all they can show is that two phones are in the same area. Now if they are being tracked and both phones move at the same time and to the same areas, then it gets a little easier to imply the same person has both phones.

#1 is not true. The police can now locate a phone exactly. Especially if they want you. Google "Stingray". It was a pretty top secret device, until a judge required it be disclosed during a trial. Local cops have this device. They may have borrowed it from the feds.

Also, don't just turn a phone off. Take the battery out. Don't believe me:

2: But beyond that, they have to prove ownership of the phone. If you get arrested and the phone is on you, yeah you're fucked. But if they bust the girl and get your number or she rolls and gives the cops your number? It's a burner phone. You pay cash for it. You register it in a fake name. You buy more minutes with cash, etc.

If you've taken the steps to get a burner phone, you're not invincible but you're already so far ahead of most mongers that I wouldn't worry. Cops and prosecutors like low hanging fruit and easy cases. They aren't going to go Narcos on your ass.

Don't be sloppy, protect your burner phone and your identity and you'll be fine. Unless you get busted face to face with the girl, odds are you're good.
