Not trying to side track too much from the forum's topic. The exact reason I used CC is that I could file a dispute. I don't think the recipient sees any of my financial information. Maybe just my name but I don't have an internet presence (no social media at all. If I Google myself, nothing comes up). So I'm not too worry about privacy if they know my name. But yes, bottom line, don't be dumb like me LOL.

100% agree, Venmo is too easy to give your real name to these girls. Blackmail central.

That said, I've done it once but it was $25 for gas. Amazingly she showed up. Still was dumb but she was an 18 yo living at her parents and I figured it was both believable that she couldn't afford gas and worth the risk.

I learned the hard lesson a few weeks ago. I venmo money to a chick as "deposit". She sent me to a fake address. Granted, I filed a claim thru my CC company but still the hassle is not worth it. Been messaging with her for a couple weeks. She always said, let's meet. I told her repeatedly that yes. I'm all for it. But everytime when I asked her about details of the arrangement, she stopped responding. A week or two later she would write again saying let's meet. Yet, never provide any clue about the arrangement.

Same thing. She doesn't get to the real deal and keeps skirting the topic. I lost interest and felt it was a waste of time.
