TMC gave the board a referral before his untimely demise at the hands of A2. He said there is a free clinic on North Mills for testing. Haven't been yet, but plan to check it out.

I used to go to the one in Altamonte closer to me but the long lines got annoying. This one is smaller and located downtown on Mills Ave just north of Colonial. Lines are usually short but they said it does get crowded on weekends. Here's the info for anyone interested.

So, here is the way this conversation went down with a random hired stagehand I was working with in Phoenix. He is a young guy and I am guessing he brought this up with me because I do that father figure thing pretty well:

Then it occured to me that I didn't know the answer to that. I mean, I know where I get tested because it is covered under my health insurance. But this guy is a hired gun, a freelancer, and I have no idea if he even has insurance. Plus, I don't know how his plan might or might not cover that.

So, here is my question, and I hope it generates some honest, open conversation and sharing of ideas (and I hope the trolls don't do what trolls do, but am sure they will figure a way to fuck it up), where do you get tested and how often?

Go to the county Health Dept. They test and treat there and it's cheap (or so I've been told.) I have my own private insurance myself. He could also go to one of those cheap walk-in clinics. I had to use one before when I had an ear infection and couldn't get in to see my regular doctor because he was booked up. It cost me 50 bucs for the visit and they gave me what I needed. You can Google it for whatever city that you are in. Be sure to include the words: cheap or inexpensive in the search. They're out there and they usually state the appointment price on their website.

I have been told the same thing about the Health Dept. But I think is based on income. I need to call and find out for sure. My insurance covers the testing also but it's just once a year. I like to be tested at least four times a year. The lady and I go way back. She and I have enjoyed lunch many times at High Tide Harry's, sometimes before we play and sometimes just because we both like seafood.

I have been in Phoenix and DC pretty much through all of February. Phoenix is a waste land for this hobby (might be the ugliest prostitutes and crappy service in North America) and DC is just too full of government workers, so I will be happy to be home and play with regulars, including this wonderful lady.

If you haven't meet her, you need to, assuming the rumors are true and this legend does retire and move away, things will be different around here.
