Again, experience told me that the ones who refuse politely are more likely to be on the better half of that 50/50 chance. That being the case, I blocked her number from my burner and moved on.

The point I'm making to the group here is that TOFTT doesn't mean we should go in blind. Decent providers know that we need to feel safe as much as they need to feel safe. Asking for proof that the pic is real is on par with providers asking us for our LinkedIn or office phone numbers. If a provider can't understand or respect that, it's time to move on.
