I'd promised myself an AMP experience so went to 12th and Jackson. The ones in Jackson Square are all closed, but the ones on 12th ave are still open. Went into Ginza, almost literally pulled in by the mamasan who came outside to lure me in. Said $40 for the massage, and by signs indicated extras were available for $50. Then she left and the switch happened, and an older woman came in, apparently just woken up. 10 minutes of a decent back massage, then the flip and the rates were 40 HJ, 60 BJ, 80 FS. I had called Friday night, and setup an appointment with Candy for first thing Saturday morning. I get their this morning and the lady that greets me says candy is on extended vacation.

So there I was, with $600 canadian dollars in my pocket. Haven't seen anyone yet. It's 1 am. I'm inside a packed Tim Hortons, with a line out the door. I decided to cut my losses, grab a box of donuts and coffee and retire for the night.

Next day I pretty much try to hit up all my old favorite spots to eat, when I lived up here 14 years ago. Well Vancouver has certainly changed, like Seattle has. All my favorite eats, are demolished and high rises built in their place. Deflated I drive back to the US border. I stopped at the currency exchange and get a rate for exchanging my currency back to us dollars. It was not worth it. So I keep the money and make my way home.

The amount of time, gas, lodgings money offsets any good deals to be had in Vancouver. It's true the girls are HOT, and prices are great!

If any of you decide to go, I would pick up a burner phone or sim card once you cross the border. Again that also increases your overall costs. Maybe you will have better luck than me.

For all I spent, I could have one of the top tier providers here. Anyways sorry for the long rant. I meant to post this a few months ago, but was not sure where to do so, as it wasn't technically the street scene anywhere in Washington.

As far as phone service, you can choose what provider to use on the iPhone (at least for Verizon) if you go to Settings - Cellular. Rogers is pretty garbage. I used Bell.

I used their perb dot cc to look up reviews. Got responses from some places and ignored by others (might've even an area code thing like you mentioned). I visited a Chinese house and house and got a pretty gal and decent service. No BBFS however. Not sure where to look for BBFS.
