AU is not a commuter school, especially not for someone in fairfax that could be stuck an hour or more each way getting to and from classes. If her parents can afford AU tuition, they can afford for her to live on campus.

I couldn't get the vanilla card to work this time. Not sure why because I have done it before.

The issue is that they require an international prepaid card now. The old vanilla ones don't work. I was able to do it as follows:

1) get one of the prepaid international cards. Vanilla sells theses as well. These are the reloadable ones.

2) register the card. You will have to register with your real name and info.

3) use it on SA, but there you can use a fake name and address. Only the zip needs to align.

It's not perfect, but felt fine to me, since SA doesn't have my real info and just a card number that is only used once. At least I think it is okay.
