One technique to consider. Park your ride away from the notel. I usually go no more than a quarter mile. Take a brisk walk to the notel. Clears the 1st head especially in the cold. You really get to scope the place out. Helps my Spidey senses. Exception is the islands when visiting Mikki in Lansing.
