There have always been both types on the site. Maybe the share has increased. Most of the complaints I have heard is about them being scammers. That aside, the big interest for me is this ranting online: where are they doing it? If you can learn that, it would be BIG news and very useful!

I'm a programmer, and I spend a good portion of my time doing web development. I've noted that SA has been rewriting portions of their site from a traditional "click link, wait for server return the new page" style to a "single-page application" approach. Turns out that due to some rather silly programming choices on their part, it's actually possible to view the text content of messages even if you don't have premium time enabled.

It involves opening up your browser's "development tools" window so you can inspect the contents of the page and the data being requested, and should work in either Chrome or Firefox.

Log in to SA and go to your inbox. Right-click anywhere on the page and choose "Inspect Element". The browser's dev tools should either pop up as a separate window, or as part of the main window. Click on the "network" tab in the dev tools. Then, back in the SA inbox screen, click on a conversation.

If you go back to the "network" tab, you should see a list of all the data requests the SA page asked for from the server. One of them should look like "/ inbox? Page=1&limit=25". Click on that one. It'll show a bunch of technical details of some of the message headers.

Now, look for a tab called "Response". If you click on that, you should see a tree with sections like "status", "message", "conversation", and "metadata". Expand "conversation" "messages" "data". You should see some numbered entries, 0 and up. Those represent each of the messages in the conversation, from both of you. (Side note: the "metadata" object has a whole bunch of info that they know about your own account. Some of it is info you entered yourself, like profile info. There's also things like "payments_total", which appears to be how much you've actually ever paid SA, unread message count, whether you're in the EU, and even fields labeled "has_under_age_punishment" and "has_unacknowledged_punishment". Very interesting.)

Each message entry has a field called "body", which is the text that's shown in your inbox. If you've got premium active, it's the actual message text. If not, it's "Upgrade to read".

Here's where they did something silly. They send back the text that should be shown, but *they also send back the original text too*. So, even if the "body" field says "Upgrade to read", the "original_body" field shows the actual no-kidding message that was sent. You can inspect each of the messages that was received, and effectively read the conversation.

It's not a substitute for reading messages in the inbox as usual, but it might be helpful for anyone who gets a message when they don't have premium active and wants to peek at it without having to immediately shell out the cash to read it.

As a programmer, I can tell that there's actually a _ton_ of useful information being returned whenever you view a profile page or inbox page. It would be possible for someone to write a browser extension that either extracted some of that info from a page, or re-requested that data from the server, and did something useful with it (up to and including modifying an inbox to show all the messages without needing premium enabled). Sadly, I don't have time to work on anything like that myself. I've got a lot of other things on my plate.

Thanks for this! I can also attest that it works. Is there a way to use the same procedure, or a variation, to suss out the SB's email or contact info? I see that all my dirty laundry is on display, but not hers. If you could poke around a bit more and see what else you can find, I'm pretty sure we would elect you to the SD Clubhouse All-Time Hall of Fame!

There seems to be a perpetual moving target in terms of how to pay for monthly membership without giving up our personal identity. I have had a lot of luck over time with OneVanilla and VanillaGift prepaid debit cards, and there seems to be some posting in sugar threads that indicates these still work, but I am not 100% sure.

I want to inquire about the experience of others w / another scenario I can envision. I have an Android phone and have the seeking.com app on it. I am guessing from other's posts that I could pay for a month with Google Pay. I haven't ever used it, so does it work this way? I get myself a Google Pay prepaid card (which I am guessing I can do without giving up personal info) and add it to the Google Pay app on my sugar burner? Then I can pay my membership on the seeking.com app from Google Pay? If someone has experience doing this, or a correction of it, I'd be very grateful.

I only have a membership on seeking for a month at a time, perhaps less, it isn't necessary for me to have a full plate, and I get too obsessed w / finding new SBs. I have used the app to set up a new profile, with that you can get a week of full membership for <$30, that has worked for me at some time.

Only thing worse than SO knowing where you are is SO calling you for an hour unable to reach you -- going straight to VM sounds very different than ringing and not answered (ringer off excuse) -- and you don't know she is calling to have your alibi ready.

Turn the Location Services off. That works like a charm. Make sure you turn it off when you are at place whcih you want others to see. I always do that when we go partying from office after lunch.

Airplane mode works and doesn't alert your friends of being turned off. You'll have to play with it, but it used to transmit your last known location when you switch to airplane mode until you go live again.

But then you can't receive calls.

My thoughts exactly. I had one SB that I paid every other time we hung out or so. Those weren't free meetings. It just meant the amount I paid was spread across several meetings. If you paid $2000 to get to NYC, and you've hooked up with her 10 times since then, you still paid her $200 per meeting. It might be a great deal but it definitely isn't free.

Fascinating 60 Minutes story tonight about how phone apps are engineered to reward and entice. My thought as I watched was. We've got to figure out some of the tricks that app developers use and apply them to our conversations w / POTs. A big complaint many have is that things can be moving right along and then suddenly the girl drops off the face of the earth. We need the behavioral mods we can apply to get girls to engage.

I've also met a couple of dental techs / hygienists as well. The first one I met thought I was going to come in (she hosted in Springfield), bust a nut, and then leave. I took her to three rounds (I have no idea how I was able to do that, she wasn't smoking hot and I'm usually a one and done old dude) and wore her ass out. She was like, "damn, most guys are out of here in 30 minutes. ".

Yep, I'm proud of myself and bragging a tad bit. But there is definitely something about playing with civvies that brings out the best in ol' junior! I do enjoy the bowl, that's for sure.

I've been civy dating since my divorce, and it's not bad. Not great, but like the bowl it takes time to sort things. I've been able to date more than a few women around 20 years younger than myself. My current "friend" is 15 years my junior, and makes as much or more than I do. I actually feel like a SB. She keeps giving me gifts all of the time.

While I am seeing someone now, I thought I'd give the bowl a try prior to my holiday trip home. I'm pretty disappointed. The girls definitely don't want to chat as much prior to meeting. I always used this as a method for eliminating the scammers and GPS. When you do meet, they're nothing like what they claim. I had some good years on SA, but I'm afraid it's been over taken with Backpage girls. I have a burner phone for playing in the bowl, but my other phone is loaded w a FMF app and my kid and SO can locate me.

What is the best way to avoid being tracked while going out to drinks and date in Notel? Leave the phone at work / gym or turn the phone off is not feasible. I can turn share my location off but will they get a alert / message when I do that, or it will simply show as my phone is off / no battery etc- which is easier to explain.

I bet this FMF app must have caused a tons of devoice😉128521;.

With iOS / iPhone you're screwed. If you're using Android, you can download the the FakeGPS app for free. It allows you to set your location anywhere in the world.
