In some of the posts I've seen references to the effect that business is slow here and that some gals are headed up north to the Bay Area. This is a puzzle for me since it's my impression that the going rate for 1 hour up there is 220 while down here it's now creeping up to 270. Why don't the gals down here do a little discounting? Someone help me out on this one. Is it possible that the bookers up north don't take as big of a piece of the pie? Also for a new gal you would think that her booker and her agent would want her to become busy and would offer incentives to attain that. To me it's Economics 101.

Quite a few of the providers who have toured both cities told me that the clientele in the Bay Area is less demanding. So they may make less money per session but the working conditions are better. A couple have had mentioned to me, for instance, that Norcal guys are much less insistent on BBFS. Maybe what happened is that in the golden days, LA was so competitive from the provider's standpoint that our service expectations became unsustainably high. That's what they said to me anyway.
