Safety should always be a concern whenever you visit a provider, you need to always be prepared for the worst. If a provider possibly having a handler is a game-breaker, then this is the wrong game for you. Providers know there some of us who will refuse to see them if they have a handler so they will lie to you anyways if you ask. I personally don't mind a handler: it's his money you're bringing and once he sees he isn't going to push you around he'll make sure his girl treats you right, especially if you let him stick around and not make him leave.
