Yep, that's how I've heard the pre-paid card scheme goes in general. I've never actually been caught by it.

I'm probably not interested enough to pursue further without solid recommendations from respected seniors. Even if she's legit, I'm probably not interested in jumping through that particular hoop.

BTL, Thanks for the warning and sorry it happened to you. You might want to repost this in the Rip-Off Reports as it will get buried and forgotten here. Could you also provide more details as to where it happened and time? How do you know she had a pimp, is that who you paid? The more details you can provide the better chance we have of avoiding this type of situation.
