I prefer hosting for many of the same reasons as you stated. I had set up in advance with Julia to come to me at a specific time on a specific day. Stayed in communication until the planned event. Then radio silence. When trying to communicate after the fact I did not receive a reply for hours, by then it was around 1: 30 in the morning.
