Found myself alone and passing by town today so figured I'd do some recon, even though I wasn't planning on partaking (to the point, I didn't hit the bank to get any cash). Was doing a little driving around and saw what I thought could be, so pulled into the pay lot near Gorham and Appleton, hopped out and had a smoke. Wow. I'm saying "wow" that you got pissed and that instead of trying to argue with her, you just handled the situation in a reasonable, fair, measured way. You were honest with her about what you had on you, and let her know it might take a few minutes, and she should have been okay getting out of the heat and humidity for a while. I usually try to see things a little from the provider's perspective, which usually means I wind up making excuses for a shitty attitude, but you responded to her attitude in a way that showed a lot of patience and forbearance. Not that it's going to make a difference for the next guy, because most of the providers assume (and they're usually right) that once they're holding the donation they can quit acting like they're interested in any client service at all, but you didn't over-react and you didn't stew over it as you were doing her the favor or driving her back to where you met her.
