I think this is spot on. There is another discriminating feature, married or not. If I were single and had all my current assets, I would be like a kid in a candy store, I would have a grand old time w / SBs. There are places that can support that sort of SB culture, but they're few and far between. Not every town is LA, DC, NYC or Chicago; in most places, few men have the financial wherewithal to live that lifestyle, and their number is made much smaller by the nature of the location. Here in RIC, for example: at the end of the day, this is still a relatively small, southern, bible-belt town, and even those with the means and desire to support a SB in that kind of lavish lifestyle worry about the social / family / business aspects of being seen out on the town with arm candy. And the competition for those few men is stiff.

As for why they're always looking: being a full-time SB is essentially a cashflow-based sales business.
