As I couldn't reply to your previous post about why the government would spend all those resources on finding mongers through IP addresses. :

I live near Chicago. If you saw the manpower County and the city put out on the street to either entrap guys looking for fun or bust Asian massage parlors you would be amazed. CPD put 10-20 uniformed and undercover cops to bust a two woman AMP. Our County Sheriff is obsessed with this. He's the one that tried shutting down BP by going after the credit card companies. I read a lot of news. Maybe to much for my own good. I'm a businessman and very practical in the use of resources. It's mind boggling. And as someone else said all it will take is one high profile monger hitting the news cycle and it's game over as we know it.

I exchanged about a dozen messages with her 2 weeks ago. Did not seem like a pro to me. She says she and her mom run a business together so she has a flexible schedule. Our conversation died off after a few days of going nowhere. She does have a nice butt in her mild private pics. I was a bit distracted with another younger gal I was messaging then so she sort of slipped through my fingers I guess. She didn't seem like a straight to the FC kind of person IMHO.

A2 is correct. Don't go to WhatIsMyIp or similar sites. Most of them have malware or adware payloads. Just go to Google and type "What is my IP".

FFA, I AM the geek you're referring to, LOL. I do this stuff for a living. I don't know how SA knows what country your dialing in from, but a couple of possibilities come to mind: a) you didn't fully flush your browser cookies, or you did but SA could be using supercookies which are not easy to purge; or b) English and US are the defaults that SA assumes because that's where most of their customers are; or c) Maybe your Tor connection's exit point just happened to be located in the states. Test it by Googling geolocation or just go to iplocation dot net. It will tell you where you appear to be coming from.

I will give you the technical chops, but your logic here is faulty. No, it's not.

Focus, focus. I don't think this is so. I have been specifically banned from another site, it won't let me log in at all (when I am at home), and this must be based on the IP address. I have used at the suggestion of a brother the page IPChicken, and I can see that it shows the same today as a month ago. I am on a wifi network at home using a cable modem. If they aren't identifying me based on the IP address, the only other way they could do so would be the MAC address, yes? We need a geek / expert on this topic.

Regarding my posting of the URL for SA and my Tor dialog, I don't have an account on SA currently, so it *can't* know English and US based on my account. I was simply going to get on the site to create one.

In a google search bar type in what is my ip. Write it down. Unplug you modem and router go to bed, wake up, plug in modem, wait until you have an internet connection, plug in router, go to google type what is my ip. Should be different.

Most sites don't IP ban anymore due to IP6 to IP4 natting on mobile devices.

I'm watching but not unduly concerned with FOSTA/SESTA at this point. As written it would make FB and Google liable for the actions of their users, and how the fuck they ever expect to police overseas sites like ours is fucking beyond me. We have 2-300,000 visitors a day and BP has got to have 100X that. Are they going to incarcerate half the male population in the US?

I hope you're right A2. From what I'm reading, the focus of this legislation is prosecuting the johns. The sheer manpower required to prosecute tens of thousands would make it impractical, but on the other hand, all they have to do is prosecute one monger on federal charges and the rest of us would be too gun shy to even try, if that make sense.

And stop worrying about MAC addresses. No website can "see" your PC's or firewall's MAC address. Only your ISP can and they can only see your firewall / router's MAC, not your PC's. Linking that info to the actual subscriber would be impossible without access to the ISP's connection logs.

If you're still resolute on anonymizing yourself further, then maybe you can a) Get a proxy+VPN server subscription based in another country, and b) get a burner phone with built-in tethering or a wireless brick (hotspot) which will get a different IP every time you power it up. Between these two, I think even the Feds would have a hard time finding you, LOL. (They could, but it would be verrrry difficult).

Why would they spend that kind of money to get all those warrants (ALL those warrants) to find who was using a particular IP at a particular time on a particular device. It's possible but that's like finding a particular piece of straw in a really, really, REALLY big field.
