Ouch! That's a bit steep. Either way though, at $400 they'd have to see their business drop by 50% before they'd notice an impact vs $200/ hr. Exactly. If their business diminishes enough they'll be forced to reduce prices accordingly.

I think it's because Seattle and the east side have gentrified so much (the east side has been affluent for quite awhile now). The more reasonably priced providers seem to be farther out in places like Everett, Federal Way, North Bend, etc. They know many of us have to make extra time and effort to see them, so they have to adjust their rates accordingly.
