I don't have a trunk, and sometimes it is safer to have cash on you in the car than to leave in hotel room or elsewhere. So everything is not as simple as you prefer it to be.

I never have anything valuable in my car. My civilian cell phone stays at my office safe and sound. However, I carry an extra $100 to $200 on me at all times for two reasons. First, you never know when some offer might pop up that you hadn't anticipated. I've gotten the second chick leaving the room to join in a couple times thanks to the extra cash, and I've coaxed several trips to greece out of gals who initially said they don't do it. Second, if some pimp busts into the room, a few extra bucks to reward his theft with something besides my cheap monger phone could come in handy. I'd rather increase my odds of getting out of there in one piece.

One of the golden rules of mongering is to never bring more than you can afford to lose. That includes valuables in your car. Or at least you should hide your valuables in the trunk.
