I was looking to get some opinions on independent providers and tipping. In an exchange about a recent visit I had, someone seemed to indicate that tipping is always expected. I wanted your thoughts on if you normally tip an independent provider when there's no "house" fee involved and the price seems to be higher than the average spa. For example, I'm looking at a FBSM B2 B massage today and the stated rate is $1. 5. My assumption is that this price is all-in. What do you all think?

I would say just like any other service, tip according to quality of service. It will go a long way to tip if you decide to repeat. You will be better remembered and possibly get even better service the next time. At least, in this case, you know where all your tip is going. Make sure to report back on the experience.

I stopped by Massage Spring in Sandy Springs, it's in the same shopping center as Trader Joe's. My experience was pretty similar to what others have reported. The masseuse was an average looking middle aged woman whose name I can't remember. The massage was fine, not great but a decent massage.
