I have used a credit card several times and always stood next to them to make sure they put in the right amount. I would go one step further than Bob and say that this hobby should be treated like gambling: never play with money you don't have in hand. Between letting the desire for 'fun' dig us into a financial hole we can't get out of, and the very real problem that (in the case of an 'extras' AMP) you're dealing with a 'business' that is breaking the law, a business that might decide to steal your credit card info, using a credit card is a questionable decision. Besides, if you go in with only X amount of money, the provider can't try to negotiate you up beyond what you're willing to pay.

So cash in hand, credit card somewhere else, when you walk into an AMP.

I am sure we have all had Buyers Remorse or paid too much on at least one occasion. I know I have but that is the nature of this hobby sometimes. This is one more reason why more women are demanding their tips before the service, since they can't trust the men to tip fairly. The next guy will probably have to tip up front also, and cash only. And now, the credit card processing service is one step closer to not accepting credit sales from this spa. Too many disputed charges raises flags and costs them money; they don't need the aggravation.
