The key is to make it simple and be a pro. Send a note with the circumstances, contact info for ref, how they'll remember you, etc. There are many that don't check refs and don't require them, which isn't to say that lying works, but I'm saying get a ref or two and making it easy on the reviewer shows you're a pro, and many will just go with that.

Have to start somewhere, and there's someone to see that may be able to be used for a ref. Some trust their instincts more than refs so if they trust an email or your voice on the phone you have a shot. P411 shows you're serious about their safety even without referrals.

Getting verified can be a pain in the ass. I've elected to go the P411 route, but it's not for everyone, they verify you're personal info.

Been a Senior here a while, but admittedly haven't reviewed much, and know that's the point. Some of the ladies I've seen think it's all SW reviews and so I've avoided, but I've gotten some good info about higher-end visitors lately and see it's popular in other cities, so glad to do my part to get a little more traction.
