It could have been worse, but if he had. Has SO I'm sure he's good at making up BS to make himself out as some type of hero fighting a gang while protecting some old lady vs the reality of a tricked John. This guy if he is not already should become a USA member and spill the beans on who she was.

Doing something like that is usually a career killer once the culprit is identified and information dispersed on sites like USA.

If any of the culprits are felons and if they had weapons -- lengthy penalty. A lot of places have cameras so hopefully the motel and the injured do something. No news reports about someone beaten as far as I can tell.

I concur. Avoid like the plague. But that's weird to get texts like that. Either LEO trying to scare you, or some doofus creating phone numbers and fake ads gets off on scaring people.

General update. Got a phone number and have been texting. She has been giving one-word responses and, IMO, is being a little cagey. Maybe that's just me. Researching phone # doesn't return anything suspicious, but I'm still wary. Still trying to set up an appointment.

EDIT: Talking to her some more and she's being more forthcoming - I believe she's legit. I probably won't be able to see her for at least another week due to timing but if anyone else sees her in the meantime, please report back. If not, I'll report after I see her in the next two weeks or so.
