The state of AMP industry here just plain sucks. Places like Dallas, Philly, So Cal to name a couple areas are so much better its sad. I agree holding the line on tipping would go a long way on improving service and walking out if the woman is just plain unattractive would bring in better lookers. Also the areas I've mentioned have a set price for all inclusive service, no haggling. I had a Korean doll at a Philly AMP years back that gave awesome service and went way over time limit I had to throw a tip her way. On the way out Mama joked that its lucky its a slow time of day.

But reading the accounts of the veterans here. I. e. Those who went to AMPs in the 70's /80's /90's. It seems as if the glory days of AMPs in the Chicago area are long gone. And when I see that there was a lot more fun in those days than there is now, I wonder if we will ever see those days again. I know AMP's in New York, Southern California and the Bay Area have long been hotspots and will likely continue to be. So, I ask you guys. Can Chicago become just as good as those areas? Or are we doomed to overall mediocrity? Of course I know there are a few gold nuggets in Chicagoland. Nice-looking talent with quality services at reasonable prices (and are grateful for the tips). But largely it seems like most ladies are homely and older, the services are not that great, and they act sad if you tip the standard amount.

I know this has been said before, but one possible way of turning the tide in our favor is sticking with standard tip rates. That means 40 for HJ, 60 for BJ, and 100 for FS. If the lady does something extra like a foot or scalp massage then you can add another 10 or 20. But we as mongers need to hold the line on these rates. If they don't want to accept the standard tips, we can take our business elsewhere. Let's see if we can get this AMP scene turned around here in Chicagoland!

I don't see it getting better and I'll tell you why. Chicago is not a primary location target for the girls coming from overseas. Almost all Chinese girls have heard of New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Texas, and Florida. Very few have heard of Chicago. And it being in the center of the country, with brutal winters, is not very appealing to them. Furthermore, while we have a decent sized Chinatown, it is rundown and miserable to live in. The Chinese here in general are not happy people. The restaurants they run are filthy and the service is poor. Contrast that with San Francisco where the mood is the opposite and the Chinese are happy and you get the feeling that Chicago is a place where they have to be, not want to be. There are a lot of older providers here because they are not wanted anywhere else. They know they can get work here in their 40's and 50's and not being in shape. The demand is there because we don't have a choice and because a lot of hobbyists in Chicago have not hobbied in other cities and don't know how good it can be, and how bad it is here. They feed the older ones and the older ones keep coming. Furthermore, the young ones, who know they are rare and invaluable, usually act accordingly, by demanding larger tips and cutting short on the massage time and quality. They are there simply to get you off for the maximum amount of tip. If they are nice and give a thorough massage it is because they are new and will likely change in time. Either that or they will leave. I've recently stopped going to AMP's. I did actually have a really good last session with a young provider who gave an excellent massage. The place was known as a legit place so I didn't expect anything and yet got an HE. It is always better when it's not expected. The problem with AMP's is that on average I'm getting an experience like the one I just described once out of every 5 to 7 sessions. The Asian Apartment Scene is equally in decline. Girls from warm climates like Thailand and the Philippines do not want to spend miserable winters in Chicago. There is no fresh supply of talent. What's interesting is that Montreal and Toronto have significantly better scenes and their winters are just as brutal. The difference is that things are legal there and so there is no risk of getting busted. Chicago is regressive in that sense and every week you see a bust in the papers. So if you add up the factors: cold winters, no real geographical interests besides a big lake, far from home, over aggressive criminal justice system, and a crappy Asian community, you can understand why the scene is unlikely to improve in the short term and will likely only get worse.

Frankly, when the massage at any place has the therapist going thru the motions or as a mere pretext to the second act if there is one, that is very annoying. So, I'm not so forgiving. I've found the caliber of massage has been on the wane universally, especially at venues that I have given repeat business to. I feel taken for granted. Exploited if you will. As if they don't take my massage interest seriously.
