I was out cruising around over the holiday weekend and as I was doing my own personal "mental gymnastics" remembered this question.

Let me say this. As I was looking I was keenly aware of how much my "experience" fit into looking at who was available and who to pass by.

Bottom Line: If you see a girl dressed the way Hollywood portrays hookers, then that is most likely a decoy and I would NEVER approach her! If she stands out as compared to the rest of the girls out there or is TGTBT, then proceed with extreme caution! Now I know some dudes like the thrill of tempting fate and playing with fire. Talking to a likely decoy and seeing if they can "out" her as a cop or just talk and get away without doing anything illegal. I figure LE is gunna arrest ya whether guilty or not and let the lawyers work it out, so Ill not play that game.

But dress as a way to spot them? Hmmm, I guess that is part of it. I saw girls and instantly recognized the body type and clothes as a girl chasing meds. Then there was the way they were walking, what they were doing and finally the look. Was able to do that assessment from 1/4-mile away too. But that just goes to show what the numbers of hours I have put in on the streets has done to sharpen my eye.

So glean what one can from the the posts here, but give yourself time to observe and learn on the streets!

There are plenty of resources around here (USASG) to help you get an education as an education is what you need (stroll maps, rules 2 keep you safe, posts with intel on girls, locations, prices etc.) . You are smart to come here and ask questions because you can learn here. The other option is that IF you wander on to the stroll uneducated, the street will do the education for you! That is known as learning by the School of Hard Knocks!

So find on the home page, the link in the left column, called "22 Rules... " There are actually more of them, two or three posts worth. In those rules, most of your questions will be answered. And to give you a teaser in answering your question: Clothing could be a factor, but not always, what IS the determinant is "the look. "

Now don't be afraid to read the rules and MEMORIZE THEM! When you get out there the street does not wait for you to remember, it just jumps up & bites you! Once you have the rules down cold then do what I did as a newbie: drive the strolls for several months to get a lay of the land. You MUST know where the girls are, when the speed limits change, where you can turn, where you can pull over, where NOT to pull over, where LE hides, how to identify a "working girl," what constitutes 'the look,' How to ID a decoy, what to do when one has an LE encounter, etc. Mongering looks easy, successful, long-term SAFE mongering is anything but easy!

Oh and you mentioned you already knew the score for escorts, really? Read the "Rules for BP Mongering" and I bet you learn a thing or two.

Hey all,

I am fairly new to the hobby ( 1 year), and I have had no experiences with street girls. I am up near Allentown but the action up here is minimal (except Platinum Plus, but that place is hot). I haven't done the count in quite some time. So if you say that then Ill kind of go with your knowledge. With a lot of skepticism. I've seen numerous girls myself. I would tend to lean toward the 30 number on almost any given day or night. But 70? Hell they would be bumping into each other. I have noticed when these fetes are pulled off LEO tends to stick to the hotspots on the Ave. They are looking for Brownie points with the neighbors. Not something they can get city wide. I could be wrong but I doubt they get over to the Aramingo area or Rhawn street, Torresdale. I would think that would be spreading their resources a bit thin to accomplish their goal. Now, this is not at all fact just my observation. Me, I'm just an 'OL Gator.

From past experience I know this began yesterday after 12:00 noon and continued into the evening hours. This will not come to a sudden stop any time soon.

The objective is to reduce the amount of working girls and shake up those that support the activity. Getting rid of the girls is never going to happen. They have been there 50 years and they are getting stronger in numbers not a bit weaker. Ao they will be here another 50 years. I do know there is an element that gets easily shaken up. I believe LEO knows and understands this. I think they thrive on this. It gives them something to show the neighborhood that they are doing something. They place police cars at strategic corners for months at a time while the locals walk right by them and buy whatever they like. Hmmmmmmm. What's wrong with that picture?

Sadly they fail to attack the real source of the prostitution, that being the drug dealing market. As long as the girls can get a fix they will always be there. That is how they survive. That's why the girls go to jail for six months and come out and head right back to doing the only thing they know and what they do best. The girls know they can return to the area and nothing has changed. The same places to cop are still available some with a stronger product.

It has been the history of those sworn to serve and protect to be leery and downright fearful of the drug trade in the Kensington area. So they tend to attack the weaker part of that market being the girls. They walk softly and go home at the shifts end letting someone else handle the problem. It really is what it is.

So knowing all this it is to your advantage to always be alert. Ask questions. Sit back and watch the show. You will be very surprised at the ending. Me, I'm just an 'OL Gator.
