From my personal experience, unless you want so shitty a session that you immediately afterwards schedule another provider just to forget this one, go ahead. I think there's too much variability to make such a generalization. I've had some awesome experiences for $ or less. And I've had crap for $$ too. This business is a crap shoot which is why this site is such a great resource. Just because a girl charges more doesn't make her drama free. One of the 'most together' girls I ever met offered great service for less than $. She wasn't a junkie or desperate, she just knew her market, and took advantage of it. There's a lot of competition in Tampa, which is good for mongers.
