I was in a great mood one morning, because the sun was shining when I entered a nice AMP. Soon the clouds moved in and when I left it was gray overhead, and I was in a blah mood. I am thinking of going a little farther south, to the beach, to get in a better mood.

There are plenty of AMPs where you can leave happy on the first, or at worst, 2nd visit, after self-service the 1st time. There are a few others with added menu items on the 1st visit as well. These places are all easy to find, which is why they frequently have a short run.

DrHung is looking for the other kind of place, the type of place that's been around for years, looking perfectly legit, but offering 2 different levels of service. The only way to get the second level is to either go with a regular who vouches for you, or spend the time and money to become a regular.

You don't get treated like Norm at Cheers, on your first visit.

This is very true, it does pay to put in the time getting pleasant massages and feeling out the vibe of the place. Of course, in the end they could just need to look at your official paperwork (which have pictures of Lincoln, Jackson and Hamilton on them).

Nope. Just making a point for all the people who want the key to the city on the first visit. I'm sure most have had their share of wasted sessions, even places where the Intel says it's a sure thing.

If you're looking for the sure thing, it's easy to find. It might be overpriced, it might not be that good, but it's there. But if you're looking for the best experience, where mamasan knows your name, guides you to new talent and always makes sure you leave happy, you have to put in the time.

For the new guys, do your homework, try the sure thing, and then TOFTT. Learn to read the signs. No play might mean never, it might mean not today, it might mean not with you, or it might mean let me get to know you better.

I wouldn't recommend 15 visits with nothing, unless the massage is good enough by itself. But, I got started with long term physical therapy, including 3 massages / week. The first therapist hinted at extras the first time, and was fired when she offered the wrong person. The next was very professional for several weeks, before a little tease started to appear, then I was eventually given the option of offsite visits. It was worth the wait, I just wish I could have turned those sessions in to the insurance company.

I took a trip to the "pretty elegant" spa Sunday. First arrival no open tables as it was packed with mongers. Took care of some other business and returned 30 minutes later. Was greeted by three ladies; mamasan, a mid 30's Lucy, and a mid 20's Anna? Maybe? I drew Lucy. 5'8 and a 6/10. Massage was more like a flogging but still ok. Open menu on flip. As I was leaving two more mongers were arriving. With that much traffic and given the menu probably won't last long.

Here's my 2 cents. I had a business visit in the morning, bright sunshine. After that it became cloudy and I left in a blah mood. Customer service was lacking so I am taking my business south.

The problem isn't that you don't know the correct location, the problem is you're expecting to get treated like a long term regular on your first visit.

If you want the royal treatment, pick a spa, and start going there. Go at least once a week, twice if you can. Be polite, don't try anything, enjoy what is offered, and give a small tip each time for no reason at all. Always greet mamasan with a smile. Over time, once you earn their trust, things will probably start to happen.

In spite of some of you no knowing where this place is, it's there.

Perhaps this is a place where it pays to be a longtime regular, from the GAIMP (Golden Age of Indy Massage Parlors, 2005-2009) which puts me at -- good Lord, have I been doing this that long? Well, I went in late afternoon on Wednesday and got another "new girl, new girl! Veery brutiful" from the manager. I disrobed while she plopped in "Now That's What I Call Asian Music! 40" and she brought in Anna.

She is 24, no kids and doesn't speak a bit of English, but what she was saying needed no translation. All bowing and scraping how nice to meet you, 6 ft tall in sandals if she was an inch. Short bobbed hair, a tight short black dress that went down to there and legs that went up to here and a big smile as she butchered the dictionary trying to pronounce my name.

Massage was so, so -- pretty good actually but I've had much better -- but I didn't notice because I instantly got busy with my own hands on her long, long, white, smooth legs. She allowed unlimited roaming. On the flip, I soon had her dress up and panties down in no time. FS didn't seem available but you never know; we had a grand old naked time for a $40 tip.

Apparently she is only here for a few weeks, but I plan to repeat.

Here's something unusual. She walked me out to my car -- me blinking in the sun and her in her sandals and little black dress, we made an odd sight -- and one I'd rather not repeat. Like I said, I think she's new.
