    Gambling & Medical Pakalolo

We can participate in an already existing multi-state lottery; we just join. The monies can be earmarked for education, social services, etc. Maybe full-service casinos in Waikiki for non-residents only; problem going be the enforcement of same. Medpot would have similar guidelines.

The problem is that we're sending a message that gambling and pot use is recognized and legitimate by our society to our youth. Of course, I'd like to be on both the Hawaii State Gambling and 50th Sate Medical Marijuana Commissions.

Gambling is evil and spawns crime and corruption. Have you ever noticed how the Boyd Group grabs you, forces you on a plane, then deposits you in a casino and then makes you lay your good money down on a table and mostly takes it away? No you say? Oh, well you're right. Utah and Hawaii, the only two states that don't have some legalized gambling should pretty much tell who is pulling what strings. I think it is ridiculous, in that, we have all sorts of underground gambling here, plus, we constantly are missing the economic opportunity of our visitors dumping a few more dollars into the community. It may be a bit stereotypical, but Asians like to gamble (I ain't saying nothing folks don't already know). A few well placed casinos that are safe and clean could go a long way to help us subsidize the rail or schools or roads or infrastructure. Expensive condos have a natural limit (space) and injure the environment views so ultimately that cash-cow will end.

I have seen pre-gamble and post-gamble areas (Mainly Indian reservations, but Atlantic City comes to mind). Some work, some don't. It really depends upon just how much graft, greed and corruption is involved. I'm afraid the politicians just don't have enough guts to make the move yet. My alternative suggestion is that Kiribati should plant a casino on their island. 2 hour flight, brand new industry. BaM!

Hold on just a second now. Hate to beat a dead horse but you are being pretty hypocritical. It was you and the "mastah" that challenged me and others first, remembah? Now that the bully is being pushed back, he tries to put the blame or the fight on the guy defending himself? Classic BS.

In the bars there are observers, players, lvbs, all sorts. Guys just want to have fun and pretty much its to each his own. To all you young turk-types, us old guys had our day. Its your turn now to grab and support the hotties. I like the eye candy when I'm sitting at the bar so come on guys buy those nekos for your honeys. Yah we've written about how its all about money, yah we've gone through all of the tactics on both sides, but it's all not true. Those KBGs are just looking for love and you dah man. LOL.

Yah know Oldee and I used to get in to it a few years back. He'd have one opinion and I would have the opposite. Back and forth we'd go with a few cheerleaders on each side. Well son of a gun, I won! NOT! What actually happened is we both gained just a bit of clarity. He was right and so was I, a fun win win for both. Well, it took a few years and then I met the guy. I owed him a few beers which I was happy to make good on. It was like meeting an old acquaintance and it was all good. What's the point? It's all about passing on our opinion based upon all of our own mistakes or successes. If you think you're "all that" so be it and good luck. If you want some heated discussions just because you like to tweak the thread and attempt to manipulate by overstating positions and / or experience without ever making any real report in the other thread, well I guess this is the place to do it. Personally, I take it all in good fun and the biggest plus is I don't have to find the MIDWEEK before going to take a dump.

Like you I met oldee and was like old home night. Primarily because like you felt like old acquaintance. WE have all been through the wars, these Shills shouldn't bother me but they do but what you going do? Just let it go and go on. You and Oldee are right. We all look for something when we go to the bars found what I need for now so ging back to semi-lurk mode. I really like the analogy to midweek and taking a dump (but make sure the ink no come off yeah! LOL) SS what you think about my post about gambling?

Yeah! A. 50 cent animal after spending dollars to get that stuffed doll. Whats sad is if you google Terry Watanabe now that's sad went to the University with his Sister (P) and her younger brother. Terry ran Oriental Trading which was the family business. I guess after sold had too much time on his hands, bad habits developed. I am going to open another can of worms: what do you think about legalized gambling? Every time a bill comes up in the legislature it gets shot down (think Boyd Corp and the Vegas connection lobbies). I think a lottery like the one in California should be implemented to subsidize the public schools. The. G. Anderson way back when proposed the "PINEAPPLE LOTTERY" at one time which came to naught (Church bingo same thing) if we had the lottery there would have been no furloughs or reduced furloughs. IN gambling there is another can of worms but we have it here anyway I know my neighbor is at the cock fights today, there are game rooms, sports betting, etc all going on just go to any KB with a video machine hey, gambling, this is a farce and we should just legalize it. Hawaii and Utah are the only 2 states without some form of gambling. At least the state will start getting a cut so we can get some money for upgrades to our infrastructure. Look at all the projects going up in Kakaako, water, electric, sewer lines going be able to handle all the additional units being built? Good question when I asked one of the, well someone at the Board of water the person said they didn't know? What the condos at Ala Moana had listing for 3 M; what you know how often the water line breaks along Kapiolani? You pay that much and what no water?, recently at 74 power went out along a section of Kapiolani drinking by maglight. That was fun. Opinions?

Well, it's interesting that now that the tide has turned and one of the mastah types has been called out (by one of his own) he is unwilling to back up his big talk by proving HIS game.

I actually agree that this kind of "calling out" should not have started in the first place, but hey, an eye for an eye in my book. Perhaps a lesson was learned here. As the saying goes, one who lives in a glass house is ill-advised to cast stones.

I feel that total and absolute ignorance of the postings, as made by the persons in question is the way to go. Don't provoke, don't respond, don't acknowledge in any way. My 2 cents.

Blake, since this thread always drew the most "Violating Admin Restrictions" for violating the special Honolulu restrictions I changed the name and have opened up this thread, and this thread alone to this stupid sort of douchebaggery. I do appreciate you trying to help the brother out though.

Has anybody else noticed how pointless it is and why we don't allow it anywhere else. Nobody EVER changes their minds. It's just back and forth with the same shit.

Brother Blake Mahalo for watching my back, I do care about being banned, but I was compelled to register because of this BS going on but if you follow the named trolls and go back you already know what I am talking about. It seems ignoring them is not the answer as another brother who I respect has suggested, it doesn't work.

When I think about it, despite even the popular places having dead nights, the amount of slow bars on kapiolani really hasn't changed. The only thing that has changed is which ones are busy and slow. Remember when office and casino were the hit places? Damour, twilight (then Maya's), dolphin (then business) were all ghost towns pretty much every night. Later when patty sold office and became Niagara, Maya's became one of the go to places. Camelot side only would have a few seconds with moonflower and rodeo. Same with 7 kings which is now splash. So I think we are jumping the gun a little too soon to think the bar scene will completely die. Now as mentioned if there is development projects then that's a different story.
There is a reason why when she was at Camelot, the liquor license was not in her name, but was under Brian, the bar back at Camelot.

Maybe just a few wil survive in the Kapiolani area and in a few years office buildings or condos will be built on their present locations.

The area from Casino to Twilight has different landowners, so to have a condo development, they will have to deal with all these landowners.

Yah got to admit its a safe subject LOL. Anyways, you can check the route on their website. Just google kalihi rail station. #14 is located at Dillingham and Mokauea (DeeLite Bakery) and #15 is at Dillingham and Kokea (by the canal). The core sampling you saw all down Dillingham is for the support posts that are going in. They're looking to do major renovation of the canal and try to develop it into a sort of restaurant / parks / boutique kind of thing, but, I would think that will take a long time.
