I think most recently brother WN tried to help you and what did you do just ignore the guy. Why do you think after lurking I felt compelled to register after all this time. I think the only issue now is how to shut you up! You and that other troll and monster. Why don't you start another blog "trolls and Monsters" you two can be the founding members, there you can post your inane comments all day long and you and the other troll can take turns stroking each other. As Oldee said valid information is what we want on KGB robs and those that are not etc.

I just drifted into this thread out of curiosity. From reading your posting (and others), I can see a war of words starting to develop here. You're new here, so you probably don't realize that if this escalates much more, Admin likely will ban you. Read the yellow banner at the top of this page. Maybe you care, maybe you don't. Yes Ichigo, mission accomplished. I jumped in once or twice. Even got deleted by Admin once. It definitely spiced the rhetoric up somewhat. However I for one would vote for moving on. It's gotten so "Ridiculous" as if we were 7th graders calling each other out on the playground.

Like Brother Jaritsuh, I would like to see this line of conversation stopped, but I don't agree with his suggested method. I feel that total and absolute ignorance of the postings, as made by the persons in question is the way to go. Don't provoke, don't respond, don't acknowledge in any way. My 2 cents.

That is a good size lot with a huge parking lot, not big enough for a luxury condo. But certainly big enough for a small department store like the new Walgreen. If any bar goes down on that block I would think Summit will go first. Summit is the biggest bar with the least amount of drinkers on that block.

Sooner or later, condos will be built on Kapiolani where some of our favorite bars are located. I'm hoping later because that will still give me time to enjoy the bars. Regarding Casino and Summit, I think the property is still owned by a consortium that includes Betty. It is a good sized property, but to create a luxury building, they would need much more property. The developer would need to consolidate the properties from Evergreen down to the Casino property to build something suitable in that price range.

My guess is the first place in that area to get developed would be the large lot across Evergreen. If I remember correctly, a Asian company bought the property with the intention of developing condos. The complex that extends from Sorabol up to Yokohama was bought by a Korean company with the intent to develop it as well. That may be on hold as they changed their minds and offered longer leases on the property.

Uncle John Ross and Mobuis are the type of people I respect. They just give their opinions / infors and move on. They do not attack posters and call them trolls and monsters. I would care of less if some brothers respect me of not. I am not trying to get the title of " master and King" .

I go solo and I do not need hold hands with a group of grumpy grandpa to go drinking, what they said here I always know and more. I do not need to prove to " master" what I capable of at the bar.

I also go alone. But sometimes good to have company. Unless you always in attack mode.

I'm thinking it looks good for the Kalihi bars that are not along the rail line. If I was an owner or leased a bar like in the 5-plex, I'd try to hold on as long as possible as I'm thinking that area may thrive in the future.

Why was the Transit Authority doing core samples along Dilingham right next to Kalihi plex if they do not plan a route in that area? I think it was about 1 1/2 ago, they had sections blocked off almost the entire lenght of that street, drilling.

The mock masters try to set higher standards of spending for services not received to show-off and keep the KBGs from running away. KBGs are not complex: they're jealous and competitive. They want what the other KBGs got from LVBs for bragging and pecking order concerns. It's a game and their livelihood that they play very well so stop the unnecessary spending.

Don't raise the spending thresholds for us and receiving standards for the KBGs.

Yes, I agree about some patrons spend big dollars to get some sort of validation of self. I think the basis of wise spending habits in KBs is to remember the girls are there working. They're showing a "party-mode" but at the end of the night they count their money. There is indeed a competition amongst them of course and to a certain level ego comes into play, but, if they make the money it goes a long way to soothing any "lost" boyfriend feeling. Sure there are occasional rare exceptions. And some of the "older" girls are now in the mode of finding their "pensions", that is, hooking up on a more formal basis and, of course, there is a certain element hunting for green cards, but it basically is all associated with money. Knowing that serves me well, but I still think we need the guys living in a fantasy land to spend, spend, spend the money in order to sustain the industry.

On another brief note, remember when there was no "Valet" parking at the Kapiolani bars? I do. Kindah bummed me out when the boys started moving in to make their small money grabs in all the lots. Just sayin.

Well, as mentioned before, the future for any bar near the rail station is bleak. Transit Oriented Development (TOD) will literally transform the Kapiolani / Koreamoku area. That includes ALL the bars in that area. Lease rents will drive them out as they each come up for renewal. Kona Street bars will be included in this. You don't think the bars are in trouble? Well, then you don't know the power of big pocket spenders. (I'm not aiming that at you G. O. There are some who seem to think KBs are neverending). All things evolve and we are in the era of change. It was Japanese hostess bars, then to Korean, add in Thai, Viet, Laotian, on and on it goes, but, the biggest pressure soon coming is TOD. Real Estate goes up exponentially the closer you are to a station in the Tokyo / Yokohama area. That is a predictable business model here as well. Want to find who is connected? Look to property ownership around future train station. There yah go, say goodbye to ALL the hostess bars along Kapiolani within the next 5 years or so. One caveat, if the land owner likes to use the bar as a money laundering center, well then it may just survive, for a while longer.

You sound exactly like the guy I was talking to, but sadly I think you both are right (e. G. : the ward Plex (AMP's) are now all legitimate business unlike before). So yes I guess the Korean Bar is an endangered species. I hope the bar owners realize it. The way the area is being developed is scary I just hope the infrastructure can support all the new development. Haven't really been keeping up with development projects but if what you say is true that butterfly is on the brink on being replaced by condos then that means for sure casino too and all the nearby businesses. In any case if not true, then I do believe someone will snatch casino and butterfly too if sold. The plus with those places is their location is a prime spot. I have a feeling though one of those places will be a Vietnamese bar though. Unlike splash in which I do think splash will slow down and Ellie will leave. History with that spot is it be booms in the beginning, but eventually go downhill. The location and parking for that place sucks. It's really a miracle that Camelot can keep going as that is another hard area to manage. Remember how it was their before patty ran it? They had their 15 seconds of fame, but then would close, open, close, open. Evergreen will always get by because of their 4:00 license and the rest of kapiolani will just play musical mamas. A couple times already patty said she will retire, but came back. I can really see her getting casino or butterfly.

Brother Blade not sure when condo going up but I was told that corner lot will be turned to a condo, as you said it is a prime lot, but if not in the immediate future then Yeah hope PATTY COMES OUT OF RETIREMENT! It would be good to have an old timer running a bar but I think this last time she realizes the times have changed. Her customers are dying off and the others are slowing down. She even admits the women now are different "They smarter" but other than Betty who is now at Club Talent I don't know. I believe you right about Evergreen, the property Evergreen is under was owned by a Chinese Corporation way back when not sure who owns it now. I think the dividing line was up to that adult video store in the middle between 74 and Evergreen. Summit I think would be a better layout for Patty. But who knows. In Splash I believe Ellie will still be there but having a bar now days is a real headache. At times. Between the Girls and associated other head aches is it worth it? Anyway I hope the guy was wrong about the condo but he usually has the inside info. We will see in 6 months one way or another.

I remember trying to get to have one bottle of beer (half bottle) in every bar on the strip. The song 99 bottles of beer doesn't cut it as had over 100++ bars in the area. I never made it but I know some of you guys probably did. Man was that stupid. Torii's lunch room and Masu Massive Plate Lunch. Were fond memories.

So what you brothers think only going get Kalihi left or do you think the bars now going be able to hang on? Who do you think going to be gone (besides Summit) and who will be next to fall by the way side? Open discussion, except for the 2 trolls. It will be very difficult to operate a Kapiolani area bar with the overhead so high. Besides Summitt, Twilight and Talent is on life support. It would be difficult for Patty mama to return as she can not obtain a liquor license under her name because of past violations. Maybe just a few wil survive in the Kapiolani area and in a few years office buildings or condos will be built on their present locations.

The area from Casino to Twilight has different landowners, so to have a condo development, they will have to deal with all these landowners.

Still waiting for a response from the "master" aka Emperor without clothes. Here's a thought: all you need to do is prove you got game and decent standards, and you will have my respect for eternity. No BS. No one else will need to be there, I assure you I won't be PM'ing others to be lurking at your "demo". I just really want to see for myself. Then I will post my unbiased opinion and if you "got it", everyone will give you utmost respect since they know I would not be bs'ing about it. What better way to shut up the doubters?
