You backpage and escort guys should be careful. Verify then call. Never talk about $ until after, never before. Might be very embarrassing if you get caught.
It's simple, stick with trusted providers and be wary of those who aren't verified.

Highlights include bills aimed at 'johns' and targeting places that 'promote prostitution' such as massage parlors.

Posts: 1274As George Carlin said:
"I don't understand why prostitution is illegal. Selling is legal. Fucking is legal. Why isn't selling fucking legal? You know, why should it be illegal to sell something that's perfectly legal to give away? I can't follow the logic on that one at all! Of all the things you can do, giving someone an orgasm is hardly the worst thing in the world. In the army they give you a medal for spraying napalm on people! In civilian life you go to jail for giving someone an orgasm! Maybe I'm not supposed to understand it. ".

Posts: 315The correct question to ask is what amount are the working girls taking home from this back breaking work they do. The pimps, massage parlor and bar owners, Asian crime syndicate, and dirty cops are all taking their cut. The sex industry is a multi billion dollar industry. Everyone is getting a piece of the pie. We mongers support all of them.

Posts: 1274The only crime is getting caught. And even then, if you have a good lawyer, that probably won't even stick.
If they're all dirty of something, all it would take is an anonymous tip to the Feds to the get the ball rolling against one person. In the end who knows why it was this one person?
The police can say this is just an isolated incident, the Feds can say they're doing their job and everyone walks away looking like they're doing their part against corruption.
It's like politicians. They've all done something that's illegal or a breach of their ethics rules in the course of fundraising, it's just they've all done it so they all keep quiet. It's just when someone gets out of line, that's when they suddenly find out about a grand jury investigation launched against them.

Okay, so on average, what % of the kala we fork over in any given AMP transaction actually gets paid out to LE and ends up in some cop's pocket? Ever wonder about this? Seems as if our hobby is indirectly supporting the lifestyle of Honolulu's finest!

Posts: 5127It was a federal case with a federal prosecutor, and it seems from the news that the HPD officer was caught because his civilian accomplice became an informant for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Posts: 1274Maybe there's no overt racial tensions but on the few cases I've been pulled over by the HPD (once around Pearl City, the other when I was leaving the old Paradise Island strip club), I've usually gotten away with a verbal warning, mostly because I looked like the Japanese kid going to UH (which was the case). I think if I were some moke, the situation might be different.
But with regards to the extortion case, there's a couple ways to look at this:
1) There's no corruption in the HPD. (I don't believe this one at all. If you have an organization that polices itself, there's bound to be an "acceptable" level of corruption.).
2) The protection amount was deemed to be too much, and his superiors had to reign him in. (Again, there's an "acceptable" amount of corruption.).
3) The cop wasn't kicking back to his fellow officers. (Everyone needs to get a taste. Besides, if you don't take that cash, how do I know if I can trust you or not?)
4) Someone else in the HPD or someone outside of the HPD provides protection for the bars in question.
The other option is that the bar owners, MS ingratiate themselves with police in other ways. Wasn't Yuni (the woman who owns Femme Nu) dating a cop for a long time?

Posts: 203I'm not a police supporter, probably quite the opposite. But I think police in Hawaii may be corrupt, and although it personally benefits them, I think some benefits trickle down to locals. Think about what we look like and how we would be treated and addressed by mainland police. Not to mention what mainland police will get away with simple based on you being local "looking and sounding".

The extortion is horrible, but it also ensures that KBs, AMPs, and other venues for mongerd exist.
Just another perspective.

Honolulu's finest, sometimes I think I should have been a cop. Getting all those "benefits" and getting my "night stick" polished while drawing some extra "under-the-table" tax free funds. Work OT while sitting in car all night long at construction sites to increase my pension pay all at taxpayers expense including a monthly pay check, hell easy life.

The legal system in Hawaii is too corrupt, too many family members connected.

Posts: 315Ex-HPD officer sentenced for extortion attempt
This member of Hobolulu's finest didn't get away with it afterall.
I guess he goes to a federal penitentiary to serve out his three year sentence (no doubt in protective custody).

Starting to really like watching Ashley on weekends. Looks totally different with makeup when behind the anchor desk as opposed to her normal look when reporting. Definitely adding her to my "to watch" list. Plus, she's a fellow Punahou grad. LOL.
Be safe brothers.

Anyone notice grace lee not wearing her wedding ring anymore? Before she left Hawaii News Now to go to the mainland she had a ring on but not anymore. Saw her recently at an event she def looks a little older in person. Not saying I wouldn't but yunji got my vote.
