Kind of forgot about this forum for a bit. About time to get back into the roll of things.

Had to make a trip out to the airport early this morning, so I took a little time to myself to try my luck. I posted up and as you guys put it here, took some time to RTFF and reviewed over mongering for newbies. Some good info for the brain. I have never done an actual stroll of the triangle, in the past when ever I went out I just stuck on 8 BTW Jr and Woodward for the most part. Only ever successfully picked up one WSW that was right on 8 and jr. That was quite some time ago and though. I reviewed a map of the triangle and hit telegraph to start. It was early in the morning, starting at about 6:30-7. I ended up making two complete trips but didn't see much of anything but a two or three BSW. Nothing that really seemed worth it. WSW are more my taste, but if a good BSW opportunity came by I probably would probably partake.

Wouldn't call my trip a complete bust though, I'll just consider it my first real recon on the the stroll. By my second round it was getting light enough out to start familiarizing myself with the route. LEO activity seemed to be nonexistent until it reached closer to 8-9. Still few and far between.

No, but before I ask about someone or about an ad, I at least run a search here and / or google the phone number. Why would anyone ask for information that can be readily obtained by a simple search?

And I will not give out information either on the board or in a PM to someone who doesn't have a series of posts that suggest that he is a reliable monger, senior or not. I sometimes check the guy's posts to see how times he's reporting details on an actual encounter, as opposed to having 50 posts asking about ads or asking for digits or commenting on LE presence. My concern is that I don't want to give information to someone who A) could be LE and / or B) is going to screw things up for a SP. We need SPs just like they need us.

As for me, I'm not trying to protect other newbie mongers who are too careless to read the forum. Anyone on this board ought to know that this is a dangerous hobby for many, many reasons; you'd think you'd be real careful in doing it.

Yeah there are some out there who say they can rail 10 in a row and whos shit does not stink. The real reason (IMHO), you hear the RTFF is for safety and competition. Safety, why give out all the information to someone who has not proven they are legit or has some IQ? Competition, why give other mongers choice information, that mean more people on the prow, draws more attention AND most important: They are amateurs. Yeah not all are but lets face it WE ALL have to earn our wings. You are given the information to study and use to make it SAFER for everyone. RTFF also removes the lazy non-contributing ass-holes who just want to get theirs and go.

Did I read everything? No. I read alot. I read the dos and don't, read about 3-4 months of past posting. Got names, faces, deduced locations, did my own recon. I have not been ripped off but, had issues when some SWs.
