I was on the north side of town last Saturday and ended up with some free time, so I took a chance on seeing Harmony, knowing that she often advertises as being in the Rivergate area. Called her up and she said she was available, so shortly thereafter I arrived at her location near Longhollow Pike and Conference Drive, which was a lower mid-scale hotel but didn't look bad overall as I pulled into the lot. I am very cautious, so I was not thrilled to meet her friend / pimp coming out of the room as I approached to knock. He got in a car and left so I went on in. Harmony is the girl in the pics but the pics seem a bit old and are in my opinion better than the reality. The room had an overwhelming smell of smoke and was pretty messy in a way that suggested she and her friend are living out of the room. As I got comfortable she received a phone call from her friend and she said she had to go outside to give him some money. I immediately got up and re-dressed, assuming I was being scammed or worse, and so I was ready to cut my losses and bolt if needed. Fortunately she returned and understood my being cautious, so we both got comfortable. Things started with a CBJ that was pretty good and then she got on top for a decent but rushed session. I was ready to get out of there by this time and despite having given a donation for a full hour I didn't even try for MSOG and left in less than 30 minutes. Would not repeat or recommend.

In 95% of the ads I've seen Exotic is defined as "maybe not 100% black." As a description it's as useless as a provider claiming "new" or "just back in town."

I'm not saying it's the same girl, but she looks a lot like a provider in Toronto, who claims to be Hawaiian / Italian.

I check the BP Toronto board frequently. Literally. 1000's of beautiful, young SP's charging about half what an old used-up hag asks for here. And, BTW, it's all LEGAL. Got to get back up there before it's freeze-your-balls-off cold.

I'm going to be inclined to agree with the masses here. It's highly likely that a new provider with no reputation, no reviews, and nothing to lose from your bad opinion of her is quite likely to take off with that prepayment. You'll never see her in person, most likely.

Also, to echo Jeepster, when providers tour, some do ask for a portion of the appointment fee in advance, so that their expenses are covered if you cancel. The quite reputable Megan Love posts a similar policy for her photography services on her website, stating that "* A $100 deposit is required to secure your session in some cities. This is fully refundable should I have to cancel for any reason." Although the specific service is photography, not sex work in this case, she's asking between 1/3 and 1/5 of her session price ($300-$500 packages) , and there are a gazillion providers who would probably swear that her pics have changed their careers.

There are several big differences between Megan Love and a Greendot-prepay request like is being discussed:

1) Megan makes her deposit known up front and in writing. She doesn't hide it or sneak it in at the last minute.

2) Megan doesn't want full payment. Only what would seem to be a reasonable amount for someone traveling from one state to another looking to cover fuel costs and a good deal 3-star room from Priceline (depending on the city, of course).

3) Megan clearly states that she will refund the deposit if she were to need to cancel, in writing, in the same digital breath as the one she uses to explain that she requires a deposit for travel to some cities.

4) Megan has multiple testimonials, a professional and clean website in line with what you'd expect from someone in the visual arts, multiple examples of her work, and an extensive history to back up her integrity. In other words, she's got the goods to back up the requests she makes, and her online presence would give me absolutely no worries that she would disappear with my $100 deposit and never show back up.

Personally, I think it's perfectly okay for a provider to request an amount that would adequately cover travel expenses, BUT ONLY if she is traveling well outside her ordinary service area or her home city at the request of one client. There are a ton of stories of girls who have spent their last $15 of cash on the gas to drive from Nashville to Memphis (or vice versa) only to have the client who was VERY INTERESTED in a four-hour appointment either pull a NCNS or arrive with no cash and hope that his good looks and charm will win the lady over.

Not trying to pull tears from anyone here. The moral of the story pretty easy, mostly:

- Guys, don't prepay if provider doesn't have a reputation that would suffer from your report of their disappearing act. Good providers CARE about our reputations, and we work very hard to maintain the "brand" of our working personas and / or actual personalities.

- Ladies, don't leave home without enough money to get BACK HOME, even if you make absolutely nothing while you're gone. Like most things in life, requests that sound TGTBT probably are. Clients who are actually going to hand over money don't offer to pay you double or triple your regular rate just so you'll drive to their city. IMHO, anyone who can afford to give me three times my hourly can probably afford to hire someone to drive them to wherever I happen to be working. .

Of course, it would be uncharacteristic of me not to play devil's advocate, as well, just to point out one side of this scenario that hasn't been considered. There is a chance that an otherwise good provider (even one who doesn't have a big reputation yet) would not be able to book an incall hotel room without (at least some) of the fee for the session for which she is booking the room. Let's say that you have a good gut feeling about a provider (and enough experience to know what a good gut feeling should feel like) , but she wants money up front. Instead of jumping to the conclusion that she's a thief or scam artist, maybe offer some other arrangement that provides an incall location without you sending payment in advance. Ask her gently but directly if that's the case. If she's honest about that fact, it might be an indication of her overall character. If she acts huffy, offended, or otherwise ruffled at the suggestion that she's having money problems, she is most likely either completely deluded about what she should consider to be offensive, or she's up to no good.

If she 'fesses up to not being able to afford an incall spot, here are a few ways to work around the issue:

Assuming you're not a three-star-minimum guy, offer to front an amount that would book the one-star Priceline deal of the day in town. (In Nashville, this would probably be no more than $50.)

Offer to meet her in a neutral area first, so that you can get a feel for her attitude face-to-face. When you see the real lady you're consider, you should be able to determine whether that good gut feeling was right or wrong. If you're new to this, make a mental note of whether you feel like you guessed right or would have been ripped off.

Offer to meet her at the hotel and pay the room amount there. You can have fun coming up with your own unique cover story, too, if you're the creative types.

Consider other options for a location:

1) Your home (questions of safety, though)

2) Your college buddy's apartment (questions of ethics of bros before hos)

3) Your ex-wife's new condo (perfect, especially if she'd be grossed out or pissed about it)

4) A car date (perfect for those who prefer more orally-fixated ladies and a sense of high school nostalgia)

5) The incall location of another reputable provider. Ideally someone with whom you have some kind of established professional relationship. (If I'm in town, I've almost always got two rooms, and I "work" a max of six hours a day, unless it's crazy busy, which means that if you're both available outside of my booked appointment times, I'd be more than happy to loan you my work room.)

Of course, before I let two strangers have a hotel room that's tied to my real, legal name and my own credit cards, one of you will need something about you that gives me a good gut feeling, though. And I know this my opinion has grown verbose and perhaps tedious by now, but I'd conclude with words of both caution and feel-good gooiness. As far as feel-goods go, consider that pretty much every ATF that would be in a hall of fame started out as a younger, scared, inexperienced provider who didn't know much about this business, and I'd bet a LOT of very good providers have been in situations where someone's willingness to cooperate with them on an issue like helping to front the funds to "set up shop" made the difference in their lives. If you're up for trusting karma, a $50 gamble based on a good gut feeling might make the difference between eviction and a place for her to sleep, or it might be the seed money that eventually lets her move from that weekly studio notel to an apartment of her own. It might be enough to finally get her water turned back on, or it could help pay for expenses like a traffic fine that has become the lurking danger of a bench warrant for failure to appear.

Enough of that now. I'm going to go write quotes to fill an inspirational desk calendar that is specifically targeted towards sex workers, or something productive like that.

Are requests for MoneyPaks / advance payments common or legit? I know Halle James asks for an advance deposit via MoneyPak before booking, and that's kept me away. I can't tell if I'm too lazy to figure that out or skeptical about advance payments, but, either way, I haven't booked with her.
