First, my condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones in the tragedy, and best wishes for rapid recoveries for those injured.

The area extending west on Market, beginning at the old Nate Ben's Reliable building, to the corner of 23rd and Market has a rich "mongering" history. Directly next to the building which collapsed, was a massage parlor called "The Gallery", which advertised "Models Available" in the adult cinema pages of the Daily News, until around 1985.
